The Second Edition of Cultural Itaú invites artists from around the country
Buenos Aires, August 23, 2010 - Following the successful experience of its first edition, which achieved 1322 call works, Itaú Cultural launched a new call for Acquisition Award, with the aim of promoting the creation emerging young artists from around the country. To participate, interested parties must register and upload the image of his work in www.premioitau.com.ar before October 15, 2010.
Award Jury will consist of Alicia De Arteaga, Jorge Macchi, Elena Oliveras, José Pagés and international guest Christian Valley, Brazil. Tejo is the general coordinator of Training and scientific-cultural Joaquim Nabuco Foundation and curator of Made in Mirrors project that provides for exchanges between Brazil, China, Egypt and Holland. A master's degree in Communications from the Federal University of Pernambuco and a member of IKT (International Association of Contemporany Art Curators).
function of the Jury will determine the 3 Award winning works from the finalists. The winners will receive $ 20,000, $ 15,000 and $ 10,000 respectively. The three Nobel acquisition will become part of the Contemporary Art Collection of Banco Itau.
The Selection Board will be responsible for the choice of the 25 finalists that will be part of an exhibition that will tour several cities. The jury is composed Carolina Antoniadis (Rosario), Daniel Besoytaorube (Mar Del Plata), Carina Cagnolo (Córdoba), Gabriel Chaile (Tucumán) Paul Chiavazza (Mendoza), Andrea Elias (Salta), Bernardo Garay Pringles (San Juan), Claudio Iglesias (Buenos Aires), Marcela Römer (Rosario), Mauro Machado (Rosario), Mercedes Pérez Bergliafa (Caba), Eduardo Russo (The Plata), Jerome Sáenz Landaburu (Tucumán), Oscar Smoljan (Neuquén) and Viviana Usubiaga (Caba). Thus, the selection of finalists take a look regionally extensive and artistically diverse.
Once selected the 25 finalists, and parallel to the evaluation of the Jury of Awards, the public can vote on the site which are preferred, and may include independent Jury's decision.
